Course Description

This course will provide attendees with an overview of an employer’s duty to accommodate employees under various federal laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.  This presentation will use real-world examples that have been ripped from the headlines. Rather than vague theory, this webinar will use the same type of situations that employers are likely to confront. Attendees will be able to learn techniques to help their organizations minimize the risks of being sued for discrimination under various federal laws.

Topics Convered:

  • How the duty to “reasonably accommodate” focuses on disabilities and religious beliefs.

  • Employer-mandated flu shots and other vaccines

  • EEOC v. Abercrombie & Fitch Stores, Inc.

  • How duty to accommodate is different under Title VII and the ADA

  • Applicant refusing to provide SSN due to religion…how to handle

Testimonials

Kimberly Grantham (CPA)

"Once again, the more case law outcome from lower courtdecisions that I learn about, the more I remain bewildered. Thank you for the enlightenment regarding the website info and personals with blindness having reasonable access, as well as the intent and consistency that an employer must show when aiming to be accomodating under ADA, Title VII. Excellent information whether I like the outcome of jury or judge's decisions and the implications of same. Thank you for a very informative hour."

"The webinar was very good but a lot of Christians & Orthodox faiths needs the above recommendation to be addressed since it is a religious liberty issue that is supported by the U.S. Constitution for now. This decision is paramount on the future of the United States."
